About AI Tools Previews
AI Tools Previews exists because every vendor demo is a polished lie told slightly slowly. We publish what happens after the demo: the full setup, first real week, and the tools’ weaker parts — first hand, with receipts.
The experiments are run by James Carter, a freelance web contractor of eight years who buys every subscription with a personal card, and Elena Kovács, who designs time-boxed experiments with a fixed budget, deadline and required outcome. Full histories for both are at James’s page and Elena’s page.
Our testing rules
- Paid like a customer. Every account and subscription is paid like any other user. No vendor accounts, no comped plans.
- One real job. We test with the exact task the product claims to simplify — a live business site, a working store, a real campaign — not a feature checklist.
- Published numbers. For every experiment: total time, total cost, what had to be fixed by hand, and the final verdict as a score from 1 to 5.
- Follow-ups. When a tool changes, we say so. When we were wrong, we correct it on the same page with an updatedDate.
- Limitations. We note the devices, plans and prompt styles used, so you can judge how far a result generalizes to your situation.

Posts sometimes contain affiliate links to product websites, which cost you nothing extra. Affiliate relationships never affect scores, and any money earned is clearly marked per-article.
